Year 2 Spellings

In Year 2, children will still be encouraged to use their phonics skills to help them to sound out words. However, they will also be learning about spelling rules, suffixes and common exception words using the Little Wandle spelling programme. 

The children will have a new set of between 5 -12 spelling words to learn every week. Please support your children to learn these words at home. Children will complete their test in their spelling book each week. We will correct as a class and then the children will bring their book home so that you can celebrate successes and spot any spellings that may need another look.
