Maths is now taught in a very different way to how we were taught when we were young! Have a look through the 'Mastery' information to see the ideas behind how maths is taught at Malvern Parish. I've also included information about the Y6 maths curriculum too.

Mastery really does mean mastery! The curriculum for maths in Year 6 is built upon the foundations of maths (including times tables knowledge) from Year 5 and lower down the school. If your children are not secure in their times table knowledge - instant recall of multiplication and division facts - this is a real priority for the first few weeks of Year 6. Please do be working with your children daily on learning and practising these. See our times tables page for ideas of how you can do this in fun ways.
